Our ethos

Amaze believes parents are key to improving the life chances of disabled children and children with special educational needs.

But prejudice, disadvantage, ignorance and inequality associated with disability can get in the way of creating the positive family experience every parent and child deserves.

Building parents' resilience to bounce back in the face of adversity and obstacles is vital. Having timely support can make a huge difference to the quality of family life and the degree to which disabled children and their parents are socially included.

Our vision is that all parents should be well informed and well supported....not only to manage the added demands of caring for their children, but to raise their children with an expectation that they will be respected and included as equal members of society.

Amaze works to:

  • empower parents
  • encourage negotiation and collaboration with service providers
  • promote parent partnership

We believe the best is achieved for every child when the positive involvement of their parents is secured. You can find out more about our seven key objectives in our Strategic Development Plan.
