Volunteer
Amaze runs two teams of volunteers, through its Independent Parental Supporter (IPS) Scheme and through its DLA Project. We are always keen to recruit more volunteers.
DLA volunteers
DLA volunteers help parents claim Disability Living Allowance for their children. DLA forms are long and complex. Filling them in can be hard and emotionally draining. But getting DLA makes a big difference to family incomes and is a passport to other benefits. As a DLA volunteer you could give the practical and emotional help needed for a parent to get in an effective claim and bring some badly needed funds into the household.
Independent Parental Supporters
IPS volunteers offer parents invaluable help with sorting out education issues for their children. These can be some of the thorniest issues parents face, and getting it right is crucial for the child's wellbeing and development. As an IPS volunteer you could give parents the practical and emotional help needed to get the best they can for their child from the education system.
Other ways to volunteer
Amaze also sometimes needs volunteers in the office, for example to help with mail outs or admin jobs.
Another practical way to support Amaze's work is to get involved with our consultation work, helping make sure parent's views are represented. Find out more about how this works and how you could help in Involving Parents.
How to volunteer
As an Amaze volunteer you would be part of a team. We offer training, supervision and all out of pocket expenses.
