The Amaze helpline aims to be a one-stop shop for information on anything to do with children with special needs, for parents and carers in Brighton and Hove. Speak to a trained adviser who can offer up to date information, practical advice and a listening ear.

If you or someone you know needs helpline advice in another language, we can arrange an appointment with a helpline adviser and an interpreter from the Sussex Interpreting Service.

A word about getting through

Our helpline is very well used and is often busy. We know this can be frustrating if you are trying to reach us.

You can help us by leaving a really clear message. We will do our best to get back to you as soon as possible but sometimes we are simply not able to return every call on the same day. Messages left on the answering machine outside helpline hours will be picked up during the next helpline session.

E-mailing the helpline

You can also get a message to our helpline advisers by emailing helpline@amazebrighton.org.uk but we can't offer detailed advice by email, so it is better to ring unless you have difficulty using the telephone.

Other sources of advice

Check out our Advice for Parents section for detailed information about lots of topics including education, benefits, health, leisure and social services. If you can't find what you need on this site, you will find other sites to try in Useful links. A good place to start is the Contact a Family website.
