COME TO OUR INFORMATION FAIR!

Date of story:
28 Oct 2009

On Friday 6 November Amaze is holding a special day for all parents of children with special needs. It's taking place at the Brighthelm Centre in North Road. So what's happening on the day?

The Parent Information Fair

There'll be lots of stalls and displays for you to browse from 10.30am until 12.30pm to find out more about the services that may be able to help you and your child. You can explore at your own pace, pick up information and ask questions face to face. The organisations with stalls will range from local parent groups to the 'big' services like education and the Children's Disability Team. We are trying to have a mix that will cover different age groups and needs. Amaze staff will be there to make you feel welcome and give you pointers. There'll also be a goody bag and some free pampering to help you recover from taking in all that useful information!

The Parent Carers' Council

Part way through the morning, at 11.30am, we will be having an official launch for the Parent Carers' Council (PaCC). Find out about how the PaCC has taken shape so far and how it's already giving local parents a stronger voice about the services that matter to us. See how you can get involved at a level that suits you. Read more about the PaCC.

Meet our new patrons

You can also hear from Amaze's new patrons, Angela Pell and Henry Normal, who are parents of a disabled child themselves.

Our AGM

Amaze's annual general meeting is also taking place at 1pm on the day and all are welcome to hear about how we've been running for the past year and elect our trustees. There will be lunch for everyone staying for the AGM but you need to book this beforehand. You can email us on info@amazebrighton.org.uk or call the Helpline on 01273 772289.

So all in all a packed morning with something for everyone we hope. We look forward to seeing you there.
