Education
Resources
Education is such a big part of our children's lives that it's no wonder it's the commonest reason for parents to contact Amaze.
All children learn at different rates and many will need a bit of extra help at some point. Children who have a lot more difficulty learning than most kids their age can be said to have special educational needs (SEN). This could be because they have a learning difficulty, a physical disability or behaviour problems. Some children's special needs are clear from a very early age, for others their difficulties only become obvious when things don't go as expected at school.
In this section we look at getting the right educational support for the Under fives, School-age children and those 14 and over. We explain about Statements of SEN and the process of Statutory Assessment with a handy guide to Who's Who in education. We also give you advice about bullying, exclusions and disability discrimination.
We tell you about How Amaze can help including our Independent Parental Supporter scheme.
